March 28, 2006.
The United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia upheld the conviction of James A. McDermott, Democrat Representative from the 7th District of Washington state. The court ruled that McDermott had violated federal law by illegally turning over an illegally taped 1996 conference call between John Boehner R-OH-8 and GOP leaders. The conversation was intercepted by two Democrat Party sympathizers from Florida. The tape then made its way to McDermott, who released it to two newspapers.
At the time of delivery, McDermott was the ranking Democrat on the House Ethics Committee.
Shame.Shame.Shame.
